NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF DIVERSITY OFFICERS IN K-12
Join the movement for inclusive education.
About US
Now more than ever, our communities need strong, equity-driven leaders who can adapt to changing environments and maintain a focus on dismantling long-standing inequities. Our goal is to develop a strong leadership pipeline network of support for diversity officers in K-12 who lead fiercely through their authentic selves and lived experiences. In the new millennium, school districts changing demographics, the need to educate all students to lead and collaborate in a diverse world, and a continually evolving diversity paradigm underscore diversity executives are in high demand and will increasingly become an integral piece of a district’s standard for excellence.
ADOK-12 is a membership organization designed for diversity officers to become equipped with the necessary tools and resources to promote diversity, advance equity and embrace inclusion. Members gather to share leading insights through tight-knit think tanks, annual conferences, mentoring and coaching, and opportunities tailored to unique roles and responsibilities.
What is DEI?
DIVERSITY
Diversity refers to the representation of different identities, backgrounds, and perspectives. It involves recognizing and embracing the uniqueness of individuals, such as their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, and more.
EQUITY
Equity focuses on ensuring fairness and justice by providing equal opportunities and resources to all individuals, regardless of their backgrounds or identities. It acknowledges that different individuals may require different levels of support to thrive and aims to address existing inequalities.
INCLUSION
Inclusion emphasizes creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute. It involves actively involving diverse perspectives, fostering a sense of belonging, and breaking down barriers that exclude or marginalize certain groups.
Overall, DEI efforts strive to create a more just and inclusive society by promoting diversity, addressing systemic inequities, and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive and reach their full potential.
